For me it is a no-brainer – add Zermatt to your bucket list! Last weekend we had the unique opportunity to experience Zermatt, Switzerland and we will tell you all about it! For those who don’t know Zermatt is a picturesque little town and home to the magnificent Matterhorn mountain. You can wine and dine, shop till you drop or ski with the breathtaking view to the Matterhorn or also know as Toblerone mountain. ☺
Is Zermatt On Your Bucket List Yet?
If not, you will change your mind after reading this (or so I hope! ☺ )
Charming little wooden chalets, most modern spas, small cosy bars and restaurants, numerous winter activities topped with amazing views to the Matterhorn await for you in Zermatt.
Your Active Holidays In Zermatt
Zermatt is a car free zone so to get there you will need to take the train typically from Visp. If you don’t want to walk in the town itself there are electric taxis that can transport you from train station to your hotel and back.
However this is only the beginning of your active holidays as there are around 400km of hiking trails and slopes awaiting for you where you can climb, ski/snowboard, mountain bike or hike.

Views From Gornergrat
An absolute must is to take the train up to Gornergrat (3089m) and enjoy the views along the way but also on the top. There is a hotel and restaurant where you can enjoy the best view while drinking your favourite hot beverage (mine is hot cocoa).

Things To Do In Zermatt
Once you get tired of sports you can either relax in one of the modern spas, shop in the city, enjoy a dinner or celebrate in a bar. Truth is there is plenty to choose from. Zermattstuebli, Brown Cow, Bar 55, The Factory are just some that we explored.
Have you been to Zermatt? If not we plan a girl getaway in 2018. Interested? Write to paola@themissadventure.com

I had never even heard of Zermatt before this post, but it sounds delightful! I love that it’s car free! It looks like the perfect wintery destination to relax and enjoy hot chocolate :)

I recently visited Davos and looking at your pictures I now understand why many of my friends said it was second to Zermatt, as it looks STUNNING! That tall peak with wind going from one side is such a post card view!
